Hi All We're back, the U7's got their start to the second half of the season off to a cracking start. We played the new kids on the block Eldwick U7's down at Congs pitch (our ground) and put in a terrific perfomance by all the kids. Eldwick started the game and Myrtle closed them down and took possession of the ball and attacked their goal and came away with Annika scoring from close range (1-0). After the restart Eldwick pressured our goal and after some terrific defending we slipped up and Eldwick scored (1-1). We restarted the game and again forced Eldwick back into a defensive mode and we came away with Annika taking on the defence and scoring her second goal (2-1), again after the restart we pressured again and again Annika ended up putting the ball in the back of the net (3-2). At the start of the second half Myrtle seem to go to sleep and Eldwick scored their second goal (3-2). At the restart our defence players, Tom and Lewis were calleed upon to do extra defensive work as Eldwick pressured our goal and in the melly of it Lewis got a little over excited and banged a cracking shot into the goal, unfortunately it was our goal (3-3). When we restarted we started to pressure Eldwick and Lewis was determined to put his enthusiasm into cracking home a shot that rocked the net (4-3), we continued to apply the pressure and our other defender, Tom, got himself into alot of open positions and when the ball came to him he was unfortunate not to hit the target. All way throughout the game our usual ball of energy, Harris, ran his socks off and was like Tom unfortunate not to get onto the score board. As the game progressed Lewis made his way forward with the ball and banged in his second goal (5-3), with all the excitement of the game Myrtle forgot to focus and let Eldwick in for their fourth (5-4). Myrtle started to pick up the pressure again and forged forward allowing Annika to score her forth goal (6-4), we continued to put Eldwick under pressure and our little work horse, Liam who ran all over the pitch to try and open play for himself and the others, got his reward by shooting from close range and scoring his goal (7-4). As the game drew to its closure Myrtle did not let up on the pressure and ended the game with Annika scoring her fith goal ending in with a 8-4 win to Myrtle. One player that I have not mentioned as yet is our goalie, Tyler, all the way through the game he pulled off some great saves and is developing into a good little player. On this performanmce I can only see Myrtle U7's progressing with developement into a really solid team who are working for each other. |
